Winter Trails Day
January 12, 2008
Winter Trails® and Grand Targhee Ski Resort host the Winter Trails Day on Saturday, January 12, 2008. Winter Trails Day, now entering its 13th year, offers children and adults NEW to snow sports the chance to try snowshoeing and cross country skiing for FREE, and to discover the great fitness and social benefits with these easy-to-learn winter sports.
Time: 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; sign up with the Ski & Snowboard School prior to the start of clinic.

Clinic Rate: FREE cross country ski clinic or FREE snowshoe clinic. This includes a FREE trail pass for the whole day.
Rentals: Performance Atomic cross country rental equipment is available in the Grand Targhee Resort Rental shop and snowshoes are available for rent from our Resort Naturalist. All rentals are HALF-PRICE for participants. |

Grand Targhee Freestyle X-Country Race
December 8, 2007
10K Freestyle Cross Country Race taking place on our Rick's Basin trail network. Events include a competitive class 10K, a sport class 5K, and a kids 2.5K race. Prices will be awarded.
The nordic trail system at Grand Targhee Ski Resort is one of the best in the Wyoming region and offers un-matched scenic views.
When: Saturday, December 8, 2007. Race starts at 11:00 a.m.
Where: Grand Targhee Resort, Ski Hill Road, Alta, Wyoming
Registration: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Registration day of the race is $15; $10 if you have a Nordic Trail pass; $7 for kids. Registration is at the Grand Targhee Resort Ski & Snowboard School. |

USSMA Randonnee Race
January 12-13, 2008
Grand Targhee Ski Resort, USSMA and COSMIC have come together to provide a new venue for a randonnee race with some twists to the race circuit. This event will have teams races and a freeride event. In the teams races, two team members race together, coming in and out of transitions at the same time. For the freeride event, there will a Le Mans style start and only a couple bootpacks…with no skinning. Basically this is a shorter race, and less focused on having the lightest gear.
When: Saturday, January 12, 2008 and Sunday, January 13, 2008
Where: Grand Targhee Resort, Alta, Wyoming located near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Grand Targhee Resort Telemark Festival
February 29 - March 3, 2008
2nd annual multi-day Telemark Festival presented by Black Diamond Equipment and Telemark Skier Magazine. With a strong legacy of one day festivals stretching back 26 years, the expanded multi-day festival has pumped up the vibe volume - don't miss out! The full weekend is filled with clinics, guest speakers, a guided backcountry day (Yostmark Backcountry Tours), demos, a fun "Telemark Two-some" slalom race, costumes, parties, prizes, discounted lift tickets, special lodging rates, and more. The theme for this year's race is "Prom Turns".
A favorite part of the festival is the instruction with high profile instructors converging in one spectacular venue to share their knowledge and charisma.

SnowCat Adventures at Grand Targhee Resort
One of the hallmarks of the Grand Targhee Ski experience is a SnowCat Adventure on Peaked Mountain. For you and just eleven other skiers/riders, a huge powder reserve of 1,000 acres awaits and up to 20,000 vertical feet in a day.
Come follow expert guides through expansive north-facing bowls, mellow, gladed cruisers and steep treed pitches, with breathtaking views of the Tetons all around – one of the greatest thrills in North America and best cat skiing in Wyoming.
Average run - 2,000 vertical feet
Longest run - 2,200 vertical feet
Daily vertical - 14,000 to 20,000 vertical feet
Average number of runs per day - 10 to 12 runs
Two SnowCats operate daily (conditions permitting) with twelve people each
Riders should be at least an intermediate level, able to link turns in all conditions and should be comfortable riding in trees and able to avoid natural obstacles.

Evan Floyd Memorial Race Days
February 11-13, 2008
Three days of races ending the local winter sports programs with our local schools. Races will be held Monday, 2/11, Tuesday, 2/12, and Wednesday, 2/13, 2008.
The annual races are the highlight of the winter for many of the young racers. Grand Targhee Ski Resort has hosted the winter sports program with our local schools in Wyoming and Idaho and has produced generations of skiers and riders in the process.
Come watch the excitement and join us in the heart of the Tetons.

15th Annual Anheuser-Busch Spring Snow Games
March 14-16, 2008
An exciting weekend full of music, fun races, contests and give-aways. There are activities for the whole family to enjoy at Grand Targhee Resort.
The weekend features music in the plaza area, fun races for adults and children, kids obstacle course, great t-shirts for sale, contests, live music in the Trap Bar and so much more.
